I am an undergraduate student double-majoring in Comparative Literature and Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
In terms of my specialization, I am especially interested in Sinophone Literatures, Francophone Literatures, and Anglophone Literatures. I have also studied Queer Theory, Ecocriticism, Postcolonial Studies, and Digital Humanities. I speak Mandarin, English, and French fluently! I have also taken classes in many different disciplines in humanities and social sciences, such as Anthropology, Sociology, and History. Feel free to ask me questions about choosing interesting (and not too demanding!) classes in humanities and social sciences!
On campus, I used to work as a Resident Advisor (RA). Advising was a huge part of my responsibility as an RA and I really enjoyed helping people out. I am an active member of a dance club that participates in some of the biggest cultural shows held by other student organizations. I am willing to answer any questions about student orgs, extra-curricular activities, and events where you can meet amazing new friends!
I have a lot of experiences of looking for research opportunities on and off campus as an international student, and was able to get some internships over the summer, fellowships for conducting independent research and participating in conferences, and scholarships for studying abroad (within my ongoing study abroad experience!) Don't hesitate to let me know if any of these interest you too :)
